Section 508: The Road to Accessibility

What does Usability and Accessibility mean to You?

Many people are mistaken by the notion that a website has to be flashy with lots of bells and whistles to keep a potential customer's interest peaked. This is as far from the truth as you can get. How many times have you gone to a website and sat waiting for some Flash program to finish before you entered the real site? Statistics show this annoys users and many leave the site immediately.

Many users need to use assistive technologies for Internet viewing. These technologies might include a screen reader or special user style sheets for color impairment. Will your site allow these technologies to view them? This is an important consideration. You want to provide access to all potential customers.

It is so valuable to a user if the site is well laid out and easy to manipulate. At Technic Media we put professionalism first, before flashy. Although we will always give you what you ask, we will guide you through these decisions and be very up front and honest. You could find any young adult that is savvy at a few computer programs to build your site for you. However, will they look at the whole picture? Your business website reflects not only you, but the web designer. With Technic Media designing your website, you can rest assured that it will portray your company as a user-friendly, professional place.
